Hi,I am an ER nurse and I was wondering if anyone has heard of WhiteGlove or Nurses 24/7, formerly (Nurses prn). I have never traveled before so I want to get some feedback. Neither of these agencies seems very professional to me. And I feel like I am getting the runaround. I have been dealing with Whiteglove since July and found out today that they hadn't even submitted my profile yet, even though my paperwork has been complete for 2 months. I have told this recruiter what I was looking for a million times and its like she doesn't even listen because she keeps asking me the same questions over and over. The agency claims to staff all major NYC hospitals in Manhattan yet they only have 3 hospitals available and only one is in Manhattan. Plus, I sent this recruiter 2 emails and called her twice and she never got back to me and then they directed me to someone else last week who said she would submit my profile to these hospitals and tols me to call back today. I did that and not only did she not submit my profile, she didn't even remember speaking to me! Both agencies act more like I am bothering them and seem totally disinterested in placing me, even though I have TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, PALS, NALS and BCLS. Also when I asked them about housing and pay , etc they said that they don't deal with the housing and once I got an assignment the housing people would contact me. Is this normal????

There are way too many other agencies out there to put up with the runaround.I have not heard of these two personally.
Go to http://www.delphiforums.com then look for travelers and therapists on the opening page is the link to the recruiting site. Most of the recruiters there work very hard to get it right. If they don't all of the nurses on the non-recruiting board will let everyone know.

White Gloves is known for the placement of foreign-trained nurses, not American. Do not know anything about the other one. White Glove has many more than 3 hospitals that they staff, but most are done with two year contracts.

DON'T WORK FOR WHITEGLOVE!!! I recently moved from California to New York. I worked for a local company in Los Angeles called HRN that was very professional. Great insurance free of charge and accurate checks paid promptly.
White Glove is completely unprofessional. Prior to my first week, my recruiter would repeatedly call to "see how my day was". I am an employee, not her friend. But now that I have been working for the company for 3WEEKS and havent been paid yet, my recruiter can not be found. I have repeatedly called her and payroll to pay for the 9 shifts I have worked as well as my housing stipend. No response at all.
The hospital that contracted me required 4 days of orientation (2 computer classes and 2 unit days). This was mandatory, a total of 37 hrs. White Glove refuses to pay. When I got angry, my recruiter stated she would only pay $100 total for 37hrs of work! By the way, that was 3 weeks ago and still no pay. Also my recruiter states I need to find my own health insurance.
DON'T WORK FOR WHITEGLOVE!!!! THEY ARE CROOKS.

Although I know nothing of the companies in question I have this simple suggestion:
Affiliate with at least 4 travel companies that are unaffiliated with each other and have recruiters working from each of them. (Some parent companies have multiple travel companies under 1 corporate umbrella)
You have all your paperwork together and the requirements are the same. It sometimes gets a little old doing skills checklists over and over but it's worth it. You will have a better cross reference to make more informed decisions on the jobs that are out there.
Be patient. The ER market has been beaten up and bruised since January but there ARE jobs out there. Shoot me a PM if you need to ask any questions.
Oh, and there are plenty of ER assignments out here in San Diego.
Great way to spend the winter. EXCELLENT weather out here if you want a change of scenery.

Personally, Ive never heard of anyone complaining about White Glove Agency, and I've worked with their Per Diem RNs quite often in the past. However, I am NOT discounting the allegations posted here. On the other hand, I think it is best to make our own assessments whenever employment agencies are involved. Gather ALL data,(BBB,etc ), and, whenever possible, word-of-mouth recommendations from as many of their employees as possible. This is the ONLY way you can truly make an intelligent decision wether to work with them or not. I myself have just sent my application to White Glove. I am NOT a foreign norse and I have all the necessary qualifications mentioned by the original author. Whatever experience I may have, rest assured that I will not hesitate to post here. :)
Great Site, BTW:yeah:
