Has anyone heard from Memorial Herman hospital for their internship? I know they've already started interviewing applicants.

Were you applying for OR?? I they have started those interviews already. But if not oh well I guess Methodist is out then

Yes, I applied for the OR internship. They have already interviewed most of the people; it is a 3 interview process, and some people have already gone through all 3. I will be flying down in 2 weeks for my 2nd and 3rd interviews (theyre doing both on the same day for me since I am coming from Massachusetts).

I was talking about all the other options besides OR. I don't think anyone in our class wanted OR since they really want a huge commitment to work in that specialty. I did a OR rotation there in Dunn tower and loved it. Everyone who did the OR rotation at Methodist loved it. If babies weren't my passion I would do OR in a heartbeat

Yeah I'm going for the cardiovascular OR one ... I'm really looking forward to observing. As far as I know, they have not said anything about any other internships, but then again, who knows. It could pop up any day on their site, you know? I would really like to know why the ER one is still open on Memorial Hermann's site though?!

I interviewed at MH. They had a "match day" where they did a mass interview process of all the candidates they were interested in. They had you do a group interview...a panel of interviewers and a group of interviewees. Everyone had to answer the same questions. It was really stressful. If they liked you then they sent you an invite for a 2nd interview on the unit.

It was last Wednesday. Depending on what department it was for some had a good experience and some had a horrible experience and barely got to say 5 words since it was so many people getting interviewed at the same time.

Well, I just called Mem Hermann HR and was just told that all positions have been filled for all of the specialties. Hmmm... so I guess that's it?

Yeah that's pretty much it. If you didn't go to the "open house" you were not going to be interviewed which sucks. How is Methodist looking for you?

That's really crappy, and sounds like you weren't going to get invited to the open house unless you have some kind of ties to MH. Anyway, Methodist looks really good as of now ... I am clueless when it comes to knowing how many people are being interviewed or anything like that though. I will really make my decision once that last day of interviewing happens ... they aren't my first choice as of now, though.

Yeah, it's beginning to become really hard to. I am tired of calling these places everyday it seems like... getting nowhere.
