I'm thinking it should be soon...but just wondering if anyone knows when they are going out...or if they have already gone out. I heard there were 500 applicants for Manchester.:uhoh21:

I got in!!

:barf02:

:lol2: Sorry, just a bundle of nerves! Good luck to anyone still waiting!

:smiley_aaCongratulations Talulah!! That's great. Now I feel good about turning down Manchester. :biggringi

Well I decided...I got an email on Tuesday that I got into Stratham so I decided to take it and turn down Concord. It was a hard decision, but now that I made it I feel much better that I have decided.

Roxxy - :balloons:Congratulations about Stratham. I've been wondering where you would decide to go. I'm sure you must be relieved about having a decision. Good Luck!

So how are you feeling Talulah? Are you going to take the spot?

Thanks DoGood2u for the kind words, I am very relieved to have that behind me and have been having a really positive experience so far with the people over in Stratham. I am excited to get my list of what I need and start chipping away at it!

Hello Everyone. I am a senior nursing student at NHCTC-Manchester and I have my final tomorrow. I wish you all the best of luck. One hint of advice...PLEASE ENJOY YOUR SUMMER VACATION!!!! Words cannot adequately describe how stressful, arduous, intense, and seemingly impossible completing this program is. I still can't believe that I'm only one test away from getting my life back. Moms spend time your children, husband/boyfriend and loved ones. Dads take the time to enjoy your family and friends. Lastly, for all you single people out there party HARD, ROCK'N ROLL, and go to Las Vegas because you ain't going no where until next summer (or winterbreak). Everyone...get ready to get your butts kicked over and over again. All you type A's are gonna have a real hard time and for all the type B's take some lessons from the type A's. The most intelligent hardworking person in our class only got one A for a final grade during nursing 3. Have fun and study hard!

I second what RNIZER said. I took my final today at NHTI and I am finally freeeeeeeee. Listen to the above poster about relaxing and enjoying summer cause its going to be a long road ahead.

RNIZER did you find a job yet? I am going to be working in MA...

Yep i decided to take the spot! I've barely ever even been to manchester! This is going to be a very scary change, but hopefully a good one.

And i have to say- Rnizer3000 your post just scared the crap out of me! :uhoh21: I really hope i can do this!!!

That's great Talulah! We will all survive! At least we have lots of support here! Where do you live now, do you live in NH? Have you been to the school? A friend I went to high school with is going to be in your class.

Anyway, I am enjoying my summer and my lack of responsibilities that I have on the weekends right now, I know I won't be spending my entire weekends with friends and doing the things I am now!

I totally agree wth the above poster. I just got through with freshman year and it was tough. I graduated with 3.7 GPA with my bachelors degree in Finance. I am now only pulling B's and B-'s. Enjoy your summer all. I will see everyone in the fall. If you have any questions feel free to ask one of the seniors. We will point you in the right direction. God bless.

I third what those two have said. I just graduated on Friday from NHTI in Concord and its true. Enjoy your summer, cause you aer going to loose touch with the people that you care about for about 2 years. You may want to explain this to them, especially if you have children. Also realize that most nursing students drop one full letter grade in nursing classes, so dont beat yourself up if you are no longer making a 4.0.

I also recommend getting some really comfy nursing shoes, cause your feet are gonna hurt! I bought a 35.00 pair at work n gear and paid for it with foot pain, but bought gellin insoles which semi fixed the problem, but anyway my point is you get what you pay for! Buy a nice stethascope, they can be very expensive, but they last for a long time and it is really silly to buy a cheap one only to go out and buy a better one later! Just for your info if you buy a littman they allow one free refurbish, not sure if its for the cheaper models though. I also engraved my name on the bell of mine with an engraver at work, to at least help it from getting stolen. Do not lend your stethascope out at clinical (especially too doctors), except to your class mates, otherwise you may never ever get it back.

Start saving some bucks now cuase those nursing books are expensive which is why I am keeping mine. I beleive my first semesters books added up to 800.00 if not more!!

if you have any gen ed classes left take them during your breaks, cause it is damn near immposbible to take them simuletaniously with nursing classes, unless of course you have no job, no kids, and no spouce (its ok to kick a boyfriend to the curb :) .

Make sure you go to BJs or another whole sale club and stock up on kleenex, cause your gonna cry at some point or another, trust me. I have not yet met a nursing student who has said otherwise (cept for the guys of course, they arent as sensitive as us).

Don't take it for granted that you are gonna pass and graduate cause people do unfortunatly do not pass and graduate even in the last semester.

Remember you are responsible for yourself in clinical and you must make the most out of it. You must keep looking for learning oppertunities and experiences becuase they wont be looking for you. So what I am saying is that you should not be board in clinical becuase there is always something to do or look up...

Most of all make some good freinds in class becuase they are the ones who will relate to you and whom you can lean on for support and vise versa...

I wish alll of you luck in your journey as a nursing students :)

Thanks Roxxy! I live in northern NH right now, and i've been to the school twice: once to take the NLN, and once for orientation :lol2: sooo needless to say i have a lot to learn about the area!! I too plan on enjoying my summer, i recently started a new job at a ophthalmologists office (M-F 9-5 weekends & holidays off, and assisting with surgeries) and its going to be VERY hard to give up such great hours!!

Anyway, im rambling..enjoy your summer everyone!! Keep in touch!!
