Anyone hear from CSU stanislaus for fall 2010?

Hello everyone. Does anyone know when they send out the decision letters from CSU stanislaus? I got into the ohlone program but it is an associate program and since I'm planning on getting a BSN eventually I would really rather go to a CSU right away than take the long route to get there. The other two CSUs I applied to sent me waiting list letters. I'm happy to be in any program, but I noticed that ohlone doesn't have some things the CSUs have, like a pediatrics class. Any ideas?

Just remember to breathe.... :)

First year is tough & you will feel overwhelmed... just remember that you WILL make it through, just like we all did. Keep up (ahead) on your reading & don't fall behind. It's ugly when you're trying to play to catch up in this program.

and lastly... don't let nursing school take over your life. Its very easy to do if you let it... make time for yourself & your family. While it won't feel like it at first... nursing school really will go by very fast!

Where did you get your books and what kind of materials do we need to get our first semester?

Thank you for all this info.. i havent gone to the orientation yet.. in still in florida.. lol..but i want to start buying my books and get familiar with them...

You'll get most of your supplies for skills on your first day in skills lab. You'll need a stethoscope - but don't bother buying an expensive one at this point... they grow legs! Really I can't think of much else... I use my laptop regularly to take notes. All of the professors post their lectures on PowerPoint, so you can type directly on them. Some students like to record lectures... that doesn't work for me though.

don't need those till toward the end of the semester when you do your mentor days at the hospital... but I guess you could get them now. I think they sell them now at the bookstore on campus.

oh ya another thing I find helpful... get a BIG 3 or 4 month dry erase calendar... its nice to see all of your assignments & when they are due. I would use a different color for each class. I also use my outlook calendar with my iphone... that in & of itself is a huge lifesaver!

My iphone is seriously my saving grace... I wouldn't know what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to be without it!
