I am originally from a town very close to Altoona. Where are you going to LPN school??
I am going to be attending Conemaugh School of Nursing in the fall. I am very excited about starting a career in the medical field, yet I am very scared. Probably because this is a second degree for me (Accounting just wasn't my thing) and also because I am pregnant. It should be a wild ride for me.
Hope all goes well with you in your education!
First let me say yeahhhhhh for you!! 2 degrees way to go , plus a little one on the way ! , I will be going to LPN school at Greater Altoona career and technolegy center. Is your school in Johnstown? I was originally from the big J-town lol, and moved here for better jobs. I am also a little scared about school, but deffinatly more excited =) We need happier smily faces on here lol.

I grad in '04 from the GACTC.. good luck to you, it's a hard year, but well worth it!! I was working for a local LTC facility, but am now working through a local agency.. better pay, no stress, but I had to find my own insurance, b/c the ins the company offers is the kind where u pay up front & they reimburse you a certain amt for whatever it is. I think I know someone who is also in your class.. I used to work with her. PM me anytime. :smiletea2:

Hi there, im from altoona and went to the mount for my RN license just graduated in may and passed my boards and am working at Altoona Hospital. I know 3 people who went to the LPN course last year. 2 made it and 1 dropped out. good luck with classes, sure they are tough, it wouldnt be nursing school if it was easy. And learn alot.

Hi there. My roommate is about to start lpn school at altoona. I was wondering if you would be at all interested in selling your old books? And I myself am a nurse and wish you lots of luck and success in your career. It is an extremely rewarding field.

a friend of mine is trying right now to get into the lpn program in altoona. i go to the mount right now and start my 2nd semester in the fall. it's the most challenging thing i've ever done but so very worth it! the best lesson i've learned this year is to stay away from the negative students you'll encounter and study your butt off. your motivation will be what gets you through the year. good luck to you! you'll do great!
