Hi there! I'm hopefully starting the LPN program at Clover Park this fall. I was already admitted last fall but couldn't go because I had a surprise pregnancy and a deployed husband, and I've been on their wait list since then. I haven't heard a definite OK from them yet, but the lady in admissions told me she was pretty certain that I'm in since I've been on their list. I emailed and called the nursing dept. but haven't heard from them.

I've heard from a former student that the program is super tough - of the 60 original students only 20 graduated. The instructors are supposedly very harsh and demeaning, but it seems that this fall they have all new instructors. Interesting. I'm super excited to get started and can't wait to finally hear from them. I cannot relax until I know for 100% sure they got me in this fall.

Congratulations for getting in BTW. It's a very good program and "my source" tells me that he was very well prepared for his job as an LPN after he graduated.

Luptyloo, after responding to your post, I went and "snooped" to read more of your posts. :D I just wanted to tell you that when I applied for the LPN program last March (2007), a spot opened up for me for the fall quarter that same year. They didn't call me until the end of August to tell me, so there is a good chance you might make it this fall! How cool to meet a potential classmate on this site! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks! I found out yesturday that I did get in, so I start this fall too!

:yeah::yeah::yeah:

As for the program, I heard that the teachers are good; not easy but knowledgeable and fair?!? Go figure?

Congrats for making it in this fall!! That's awesome! I'm still going this fall too, after a little drama where they dropped my appliation, but it's all straightened out now and I'm going to register for classes soon. Do you know if we can register online or have to go in and do it in person? I talked to a friend of mine who started the spring program and she told me that is absolutely crazy and the hardest thing she's ever done, but she still loves it. We'll see how the instructors really are. I've had several teachers before that had a "bad reputation" but I generally got along with all of them.

Keep in touch and see you in fall!!

Lamie,

Thanks (again)!! Congrats to you as well-I am sure you are relieved to know everything is settled!! Cindy asked me to come in to register, although it appears on the website that a person can do it online, I don't know? I am going in because I want to find out all I can about books, uniform, etc, as well as check on my financial aid. I can PM and let you know how it goes.

I think hard, crazy, but enjoyable is often the description of nursing programs. I have been pretty fortunate with my professors while taking my pre-req's at OC, but man have I heard some horror stories! The LPN who told me CP is a good program also said there is a teacher at a clinical site who has a sarcastic manner, but she said listen to her-she really knows her stuff! There were times that this student knew things others didn't because of this particular teacher.

I sent you a PM, and asked where you commute from- I asked be cause of the possibility of carpooling-let me know if you would be/could be interested. :p

Starting as well, this spring!! (spring 2009)

See you there!! I'm hard to miss, Male, 6'4".

You all let me know if a teacher is being too hard on you!!

I'll rough em up a little.

I start Fall 2010 at cptc anyone else?
