  1. I grew up in a logging town, lots of drunks, and I could not count the number of fights I have broken up over the years. I don't have any formal training, only the physical capacity. Are there any hospitals that train security specifically for the medical setting? Would I be recognized as both a nurse and security detail? And more importantly, can I recieve a raise/bonus for having that distinction? I may sound greedy, but that's life. And it seems to make sense to me. As a nurse I'd be in closer contact with the patients than the regular security, and would be able to work more quickly to prevent trouble.
  2. Print out a huge stack of resume's, and just run around to every place you can find. And don't stop pestering!!!
  3. Just work hard and pester the administration, and you have a chance anywhere!!!
  4. Starting as well, this spring!! (spring 2009) See you there!! I'm hard to miss, Male, 6'4". You all let me know if a teacher is being too hard on you!! I'll rough em up a little.
  5. Think we need to remind them of that. Got calls in HS from recruiters from the Army and Marines. When I mentioned wanting to become a nurse, they both simply hung up on me. I for one am only really attracted to women, but I'm adventurous...
  6. 19 now, just graduated HS last June. Pre-nursing still, starting LPN in the spring. I'll be 19 then too. Be 20 when I finish school.
  7. I was that kid who found the bird with the broken wing, and patched him up to fly. I have very blue-collar sensibilities, and to me Nurses are to Doctors what Carpenters are to Architects. And I just love people.
  8. Take a year off to work on a dairy farm. That was my first job, good prep.
