Am thinking about registering as its right up the street (well up the street 200 miles that is - lol).
Looks interesting. Anyone been to one - is it worthwhile?
AANP cordially invites you to join your colleagues at the2016 Specialty & Leadership Conference, September 22-25, 2016,at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Rosemont, IL.
I was really interested in the business track - they offer a business track, derm, pain and one other that I can't think of right now.

I've attended a previous one in Las Vegas. I think AANP keeps 2 annual conferences: the main thing that happens in summer, and a fall leadership conference that was retained from when the previous American College of Nurse Practitioners existed as a separate group from AANP. This one is very much "AANP" in content - in my opinion not heavy on new evidence and clinical content. There was a speaker who spoke on how to start an independent NP practice - this one was quite interesting but she didn't have enough time to answer questions. I wouldn't be inclined to go again knowing that I will likely not learn anything new (for my specialty at least) but it's a good way to accumulate CME's.
Thanks Juan - don't really need CME as I do audio digest for most of mine plus a lot of teaching. Appreciate the insight

OP: please have the leadership discuss the preceptor isuue so it shouldn't continue to derail many earnest NP students throughout the country. Why this is one of the best kept secrets in nursing education is a mystery to me. I have even been told by practicing NPs that they don't like doing it for a variety of reasons I will not get into suffice to say that some were not exactly of a collegial nature.
How soon many forget who may have trained them.
Luckily for them, it wasn't them. Please excuse the tautology

Just did the summer conference, it was great. I'm sure this one will be as well. My company pays for me to go to conferences in Hawaii. It's going to be a tough call, lol.
