Anyone out there go to Wake Tech?!?!?!

Published

I'm looking for more info on getting into the actual Nursing Program. It is very hard to find someone at the school to give you answers.

If your in the program, how many points did it take for you to get in??

Does anyone know when acceptance letters go out for the Fall semester?

Any Info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

I too had difficulty dealing with Wake Tech. I applied the the RN program, completed all my prerequisites, attended orientation, and waited for what seemed like forever. I called the admissions counselor to follow-up, but she never seemed to answer her phone. I left several messages and never heard back. As the decision deadline approached and I still hadn't heard anything, I called again, and found out that they had LOST my application. So basically I wasn't even considered among the other applicants and of course did not get in.

I then applied to Vance-Granville and got in right away. I am graduating in two months. It is a much more organized program -- the admissions process is very streamlined and they keep you informed every step of the way. The admissions counselors answer their phones and respond to inquiries. All policies and expectations are clearly spelled out from the beginning and are posted on the school's website as well. Vance-Granville is a farther drive for me but overall has been much easier to deal with than Wake Tech.

The wait list at Durham Tech may be increasing. They have had to cancel the start of this fall NUR 101 class and will not enroll again until Jan 07. I am in the program (start NUR 102 next week) and waited for 1 and 1/2 years plus I deferred the 1st semester offered to me because I was notified a week before class started that I had a slot. To say that I am not pleased with the program is an understatement, but I am moving out of state at the end of this year for my husband's job and it makes sense to finish before I go so I can work in VA while I wait for my 1 year of residency for in-state tuition.
