My surgery is on May 26. I've heard of the gastric sleeve surgery, but my insurance company does not cover it. It's restrictive rather than malabsorptive, whereas the RNY is both. I'm excited about my surgery, more nervous about the anesthesia part of it. I've been keeping a diet diary and journaling my exercise.

Well, I'm excited for you. That's coming up soon! I wish I were that far along. I'm not afraid of anesthesia, but I don't like it. I've only had it twice, but both times I woke up in the RR bawling like a baby. For no apparent reason. Just something about the anesthesia makes me wake up that way. Embarrassing. But better than conscious sedation, which I used to get with my eye surgeries. I talk like an idiot through the whole thing and repeat myself endlessly. Sometimes I don't remember it, sometimes I do, and sometimes I'm aware of it while I'm doing it but can not stop!!! Wierd. Anyway, I wish you the best, can't wait to hear how it goes.

Hey I did a search for lap band surgery because I am considering it. I've completed about 75% of the paperwork, meetings, etc. I was wondering if those of you who were considering the surgery went through it and if everyone continued to have good results. Thanks!!!!!
