Anyone here ever worked a government (State) RN job before?

Hello everyone, I recently got offered a State RN job here in Orlando, and I was wondering if anyone here have worked for the State before or currently does? I was sooo shocked at how little State jobs pay, and contemplating whether I should take it or not. It pays less than my current job, but I think I will like this job better. I would love to hear some of your experiences working for the State ;). The program I got an offer on is Children Medical Services specifically for Foster care. Thanks all!! :nurse:

Don't be shocked. I currently work for the state of NC(accounting) now and that is why I am trying to get out and go to nursing school. Yes you will have a job but that's about it. When I want to go on vacation, I can barely get out my driveway.

I hope that changes by the time I get my RN license.

Good Luck and Congrats on getting a job. A lot of people would give anything to hear a job offer right now.
