Anyone Ever take Micro with Physio before?

Published

Hey everyone,

I spoke with a counselor and was advised to take Anatomy with Chemistry in the Fall and Health Microbiology with Physiology in the Spring. I know doubling up on science class will be very time consuming but I don't plan on taking any other classes so I think I'll be able to handle it. Any advice? Has anyone ever done this before?

Thanks!

I had A&P II and Microbiology in the same semester; got A's in both classes. Time consuming but not impossible to do. Good luck!

I took microbiology with A&P II and 3 other classes. It was plenty of work, but manageable. If you're taking no other classes, you should be fine.

I already have a Bachelors degree, so many courses they make nursning students take i already have completed. But I do have to take the science courses, and I have to take Chemistry first because you need to have had a "C" or better in Chem in high school or had it in college.

I'm taking Chem this fall (lecture and Lab both on the same night, so I'm only going to class one night per week). Then I have to decide if I should go for A&P and Microbiology together in Spring, or do one in Spring, one in an early summer session, and A&P II in a later summer session. My transcripts are currently being reviewed by the Nursing Dept. and they may tell me what they think I should do. If it doesn't affect my chance to start the actual Nursing courses by Fall '07, I'd like to take each one seperately, but if taking 2 of them in Spring is more beneficial, then I'll just have to bite the bullet and do it.

omg, now i don't feel so scared anymore. i want to double up on my science classes as well.

I had a lot of fun taking A&P, Very interesting class and the instructor was awesome. I still have to take the lab that goes along with it but aside from that I will be taking micro while taking nursing classes in the spring. :) I have a micro book that I will be reading between now and then to kinda get an idea about what I will be learning... With enough studying and time dedication anything becomes easy.

I'm really thinking about taking A&P II and Micro together. I don't really NEED to, but I really want to get Micro over with. I'm still not sure if I will or not. It helps to hear that other people were able to do it :)

I took physiology and anataomy and chemistry together (yes, all three classes), and it was tough, but they complemented each other well, especially anatomy and physiology.

Taking microbiology with physiology makes more sense than taking physiology with chemistry in my opinion. Although I don't know how the later parts of micro would complement physiology. At my school biology was a pre-req for anatomy and physiology but I didn't have time to do that class, so I winged it and did fine. Seemed to me that after the first chapter you already learned enough of the basics to deal with the more complex stuff later on. You learn the basics, then everything gets complex. Some stuff builds on top of each other, but it doesn't really ladder from the start. Not for me anyway, it went basic, then complex, right off the bat.

Thought I'd throw that in there real quick.

I just have 3 science courses and my fall semester which is soon. I'm going to take A&P1 in the spring. And take A&P2 and Micro in the summer in 5 wk courses separately in summer 1 and summer2. Hopefully I can apply that Oct. get my accpetance letter in Nov. and be in Nursing school fall of 08! I just hope I have time to study for my NLN. I guess I'll study the NLN guide over christmas break and hope for the best in the spring! And if my score isn't so great take it again in the fall before I put my application letter in. I pray to god that everything will work out. Everyone wish me luck! And I wish everyone luck we are almost there!
