anyone ever determine whether to give morphine or demerol to pancreatitis?

I've come to realize that although many of the tips on here are very helpful...some contradict each other. With pancreatitis.....is it demerol or morphine that's the chosen medication now? ATI says one thing, Saunders says another...people on the forum are torn. That's the reason I chose to study 2 sources only..Hurst and Saunders. Hurst starts Tuesday so I'm interested in what they have to say.

Demerol is no longer given in many places PERIOD. I also have never seen a pancreatitis pt get anything but morphine or fentanyl
