Anyone ever appealed due to illness?

Published

Hi everyone. I am in SC. We have a 5 year monitoring program. I was diagnosed with lupus and several other autoimmune diseases last August. I am considering an appeal of the program due to my illnesses. I am wondering if anyone has been down this road? There is nothing specific I "want to take". With huge medical bills, the cost of the program and the testing is a big burden. I need my job, but I have to work in pain every day. Terrible sleep at night, etc.

I know someone in the program in Alaska who suffers from chronic pain. The program allows them to take tramadol but they had to add a pain management doctor to their repertoire and have to see them monthly. I don't know the specifics of your agreements, all Alaska nurses in recovery are monitored by the BON.

In NC as long as you have a legit Rx you can take anything. The BoN has to have open access to your medical records though. If you are suspected of doctor shopping you will be in trouble, so you need to choose you doctors wisely. Best of luck to you OP.
