Hi all. I met with my academic advisor on Friday and she suggested that based on my transcript and grades I should consider enrolling in an accelerated nursing program. It is an intense 10-month program and I would graduate in May of 2007. I am married with 3 children. Has anyone else done this and what is your experience and/or advice?

I am in a 18 month program and so far, so good. I was not sure about doing it though, because I will not have a break until I graduate October 2007.........But like my girlfriend (who is an RN) said to me when I was deciding if the program I am in was right for me "You can do anything for 18 months" So I will tell you......You can do ANYTHING for 10 months........sure it will be tough and stressful, and you will miss out on a lot of things, but in 10 months you will be a nurse! :yelclap: I say go for it!!
Good Luck in whatever you decide!!

I'm in a 14 month program that is accelerated. On the plus side: I'll be a nurse by July. On the negative side: I'll only have had 14 months to become a nurse! It's doable, it's just REALLY stressful. I would recommend it due to the time factor, though. It's really great to know that I'm almost done!

Im in a 12 months accelerated program and I also graduate may 2007. It is VERY intense and stressful!!! BUT it will be worth it. You just have to commit and dedicate 100% to school. I know people in my class with kids and they are doing fine. Good luck
