Anyone else waiting to start RN program?

Hi everyone! After working incredibly hard to finish my prerequisites, I got accepted into my community college's RN program :)! The problem is that the programs where I live are so impacted, that I am an alternate to start Fall 2015 (if I don't get in then, I start Spring 2016). I'm glad, of course, that I am accepted, but it is really frustrating to work so hard to finish the prerequisites only to have to wait 18 (or more) months. I am an older student (37 years old, married with four kids), so I don't have time to wait around. Unfortunately, I don't have a choice. Anyone else in this situation? Thanks :)

:up:Congratulations on getting into the program of your choice! That's a happy achievement. Sorry about the wait; as an older student myself, I sympathize with your feelings of urgency.

To anyone who is reading this who is keen to get into a program as early as possible and is in the process of applying: APPLY TO MORE THAN ONE NURSING SCHOOL so you have options.

I too got accepted to vvc as an alternate 2015... yay...

That's great tristantko! Maybe we will start together! When do you plan to take Nursing 220 and 246? I'm planning to take both of them in the spring. Are you taking any classes this summer? I'm taking the Acute care CNA class.

Thanks!! Congrats to you also.. no, I'm not taking any classes. I've been done since last summer 2013.. just waiting patiently for nursing school.... I'm pretty sure I'm going to take 220 and 226 in spring.... I'm super excited to start been along time in the making..

LOL, I know, This site is hard to navigate sometimes. I'm alternate number 5. I really hope we get in for Fall. Did you take all your prerequisites sciences at VVC? I took all but Anatomy. I took that at Barstow.

Yep, I took them all at vvc, ---------, ---------------, -------------.. I was pretty devastated when I found out... two years that's crazy!!!! I think we will get in my husband is going into third semester and his friend was alternate #9... I've excepted whatever happens...

Nine isn't too bad. I was number 17 on my wait list and finally got the call a few weeks ago I'm starting this fall. Keep your head up!
