If you tested out of taking intermediate algebra, you should be fine. I'm not exactly a math person and I didn't have a hard time in Statistics. Get comfortable using Excel. In fact, Excel was my best friend in the Fall semester of 2012. It'll be a huge help when it comes to formulas and calculations. I became more comfortable using Excel and not only did it benefit me in the class but also at my job.
I just started stats this week. Our instructor is Chinese & the sweetest thing! Lol we haven't learned anything yet but from what I can remember from high school stats, it's mostly ratios, mean, median, range stuff. That stuff all came easy to me. We don't have to use the graphing calculators for our class.
I'm taking it but it's online for only 8 weeks :/ Class doesn't officially start until the 26th but it's open and we have assignments due on the first day. I have already started :) It's not bad yet. We get to use a computer program to do all our calculations. We just have to interpret them. I am taking "statistics for psychology" and not the "math" one. So hopefully it will be a little easier!

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, and I was wondering if anyone will be taking statistics this fall semester. I'm somewhat nervous for this class because I'm not sure what to expect or how much "math" will be involved. I (thankfully) tested out of taking an Intermediate Algebra course at my college, and I'm hoping the math in statistics will be more like Chemistry math (which I was really good at). My class starts on August 26th. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do well in this course? Thanks!
