Anyone know where I can get just the Pass CCRN CD? I bought the book (with the CD) last year, but pushed taking the CCRN back d/t knee surgery, took the GRE, and moved twice. Now I'm studying again, found my Pass CCRN book but no CD! I can't find it anywhere. I don't want to buy the whole book again if I don't have to just to get the CD. From what I hear, the CD is the best part.

Anyone have luck finding CD only?

I am studying for them currently.

If you have a chance to take the med-ed review, do it... she was amazing. My boss is even sending me back for a second review before I take my test.

I worked in a cardiac step down unit for 2 years... but didn't have any swan/IABP experience (we did a lines, vents tho) so i moved to the CPICU recently, and am going to spend a few months with swans, fresh open hearts and the notorious off service "dump" to get the rest of the critical care managing knowledge I need and then take the test.

I have a book also. but the class was by far the best thing I ever took!

good luck to all!:yeah:

I just scheduled my exam date and now feel nauseated! August 4th seems tooooo close. I have been studying, on and off, for the past six months. Have Laura's videos, attended the AACN's review course provided at work, have the Pass CCRN book and CD, answer the questions, and have another review from David Woodruff (I think). I still feel overwhemled! Some days I do well on the questions, others I feel clueless. Working in a community hospital ICU we get about two swans/year and those questions really make me nervous. OK! Enough of my whining and self doubt, time to really buckle down and focus. What's really the wose that will happen, I fail and retake the exam? Thanks for listening! All prayers are welcome :)

So my exam is next week!! I'm in a state of panic.. any last minute tips I should be working on? I have been doing my Pass CCRN 150 questions. I have done like 6 sets. I have made a dramatic improvement and have consistently scored 122/150 the last couple times. Lay lowed a little bit, did some tonight and I got 115/150! Oh no! What happened?! I'm freakin' out.

Legs (DVT). Think about your anatomy - a thrombus in the LA is going to go out systemically, not to the lungs.

This link actually puts it at 90% of PE from DVT in legs:

Thank you!! I thought so too. I know that thrombus originating from the right side causes pulmonary embolism (upper leg/thigh/near the pelvic area being the most common), and anything on the Left side of the heart causes systemic - arterial, cerebral, renal etc.

however, this rationale/answer threw me off again. i hope this is one of dennison's typo...

Rationale: Clots from the left atrium go to the coronary arteries, the cerebral arteries, or the peripheral arteries. Clots form the arms, legs and right ventricle go to the lung. Although pulmonary emboli are serious, the lung acts as a huge filter that prevents these clots from getting into the coronary arteries, the cerebral arteries or the peripheral arteries.

Strategy: Notice that option C is the only choice that is on the left side of the heart.
