Hey - I just accepted at Martin Memorial in Stuart, Florida. Anyone else going to be in this area Jan-April? I'm in need of some acquaintances there. Also anyone know anything about Martin Memorial?

Hey I am already traveling down in that area over at St. Lucie Medical Center. I was going to look into Martin Memorial, because I have heard that it is a nice place to work. What area are you going to working in?

Talk to you soon!

Specializes in Paramedic,ER, House Supervisor, OR, CVOR.

I am planning on getting into somewhere in Palm Beach county in Jan. You have a January start already??? What is your specialty?

I worked at JFK last winter. Arrived just after Thanksgiving and stayed till late March. Have a daughter in the area and was a resident till 5 years ago. It's not bad during the winter but didn't like living there. Good luck. Hope you have a good assignment.

I'll be working in a MICU. I am hoping to get a good experience and a good tan!

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele/Oncology.

I'll be in Orlando area sometime in Feb, hoping to make Disneyworld an educational homeschool work/play experience for two kids (9 & 10). I'd enjoy talking to travelers going to be there then, especially with kids, or with FL med/surg/tele experience.

i'm presently in port st.lucie, on a contract in jupiter (just south of stuart). i worked a contract at martin mem. several years ago. was a pcu overfow. was okay. they have a new cardiac (cabg plant) unit, maybe good if your into that. there are lots of good beaches (free) all along south hutchinson island. good fishing - whatever type you may like. the nightlife is more interesting down in west palm area.

Hello,

I have been working at Martin Memorial SOUTH hospital (PCU)for the past 2 years. It sounds like you will be at the North hospital. Now I was told the south hospital was nicer but the North has a nice view of the River. I was pulled to that hospital twice and it wasn't bad. I am more partial to the South hospital...its smaller too. I am considering taking a position at Columbia Hospital in WPB. I have an apt in Jupiter so its closer to me...you know gas prices are horrendous. Good Luck!!!

Specializes in EMS, ER, GI, PCU/Telemetry.

i used to work EMS in Martin Cty, FL. both north and south hospitals are beautiful campuses, with small units and excellent docs.

i grew up on Hutchinson island (the south side)... recently moved :( but theres alot of stuff to do there, depending on what you like. WPB has awesome shopping and nightclubs, Vero Bch is kinda quaint and quiet, Ft. Pierce has great fishing, Jensen Beach has great beaches and the Pineapple festival is always fun!

depending your speciality... i would recommend:

Ortho... St. Lucie Medical Ctr (PSL)

Stroke/Cardiac.... Lawnwood (Ft. Pierce)

Trauma/ER...St. Marys (WPB) or Holmes Regional (Melbourne)

OB/PP... Martin Memorial North (Stuart) or Indian River Memorial (Vero)

hope you enjoy the Treasure Coast!!! :)
