  1. That's one of the worst parts about traveling I think. I have about 3 weeks left on my assignment too waiting for what's next. I call my recruiter about 4-5 weeks before the end (so I've been working on this for two weeks already) and I'm no closer to knowing where I'll be. A lot of people don't post until like 2 weeks before they need someone. Also, I know with the company I work for, if you take more than 4 weeks off between assignments you lose your insurance and have to reapply for everything which is a pain. But I like to take a few weeks off between.

Looking to go to NYC in September. I am an ICU nurse looking to work in Manhattan. Anyone have any advice on which hospitals use travelers that are in a safe part of town? Also, would you take the housing or the stipend? What is the housing like? Can you take your car? Thanks!
  3. I'll be working in a MICU. I am hoping to get a good experience and a good tan!
  4. Hey - I just accepted at Martin Memorial in Stuart, Florida. Anyone else going to be in this area Jan-April? I'm in need of some acquaintances there. Also anyone know anything about Martin Memorial?

I am thinking I am going to start traveling soon and have talked to several agencies. So far, I have had really positive dealings with American Mobile. (This is before taking an assignment though.) What makes them so "evil" I guess is my question.

So I have a year and a half of ICU experience at one of the big teaching hospitals. I have my IABP cert, work daily with SGCs and MALs, vented patients. I am beginning to feel a little bit bored... I think I work on probably the nicest unit that exists, but I don't see myself working here the next 30 years. (Not that I would mind ending up back here...) I know I don't know everything and I want to learn as much as I can. Do you think this early on I can be a good traveling nurse? I feel like this could be the perfect way to see the world, learn a lot, and do something I enjoy all at the same time.
