Anyone else getting antsy about their applications to Direct Entry programs?

Published

Hey everyone, I'm still pretty new this website and have mostly been perusing through past threads. Some of them are a little dated and you have to do a lot of backtracking so I thought I would start a new generic thread inquiring about how everyone is feeling about waiting to hear from their schools.

I applied to UCSF, Columbia, Hopkins, and Yale for their accelerated/advance practice programs. I am getting very nervous and antsy wondering if I will get an interview or be accepted.

I applied for the Adult NP track in most with a specialty in HIV/AIDS care at UCSF and Columbia.

What is everyone else thinking/feeling right now?

weez...you need to take the GRE's? I wish you luck. I too am not a good standardized test taker and was so lucky that the programs that I was looking at/applied to didnt require them! Just thinking that I might have had to is enough to plague me with extreme anexiety!

But with your GPA and educational background I think you should be more than okay! Those are both great to supplement any score you might receive!

Good luck with everything!

Hey Weezbug. Sounds like you have a pretty good educational background.

As for the GRE I too am horrible. I took them twice and never broke 1000 on each test. I did do well on the verbal and writing, so for that part I would suggest just reading. Practice your comprehension of texts. Read magazines, textbooks, fiction just something.

As for the Math I guess just review basic applications.

I too considered UIC but I didn't have the Gen Chem requirement done. It's really hard with these nursing schools because their requirements vary so much.

Wow yellowboneRN that's a lot of schools to apply to! I was going to do the same thing, but looking at my checking account after paying the application fee I decided to stop at my four.

It's great that you were already accepted somewhere. Is there one school that is your top choice?

Yea, it's expensive. I've actually gotten accepted to 2 so far. I heard from another one today. So far. UOP ground Phoenix MSN FNP program and today Graceland University online MSN FNP program. I'm getting excited.

I did not answer your question. There are 2 schools that are my top choice.

Union University---because they are 15 months intense and you're done. MSN-FNP and you also get CNS--it's ground though so you gotta move...

Then Johns Hopkins for the name and recognition. I love the school.

Other than that all the others are on the same playing field.

Yes...Samuel Merritt, Drexel, CSU-Long beach, CSU-Fullerton, UCLA.

I'm trying to apply to as many schools as possible.

Are you going to apply to any other schools?
