I applied to Bellevue (feb 7) and Seattle Central College (apr 1). Did anyone else apply to these schools? I applied to SCC 2 minutes after the application period opened, so I'm crossing my fingers for that slot! Cebrina said I should be good to go!
Back up schools are Renton and Highline, as their Fall apps aren't due until June.
Anyone joined the accelerated BSN with BC or SCC/UW??

cupkate255: I applied to Bellevue but I don't think I will get in. I only got a 79% on my TEAS. How did you do on the TEAS? And what is your #1 school?
I got around the same on my TEAS; I had been out of my sciences for too long :/ Aced the math and writing! My #1 choice is Central Seattle....they rank up there pretty high (higher than even Seattle U).
My backups were Renton & Highline...but apparently Renton is only state accredited...so that bumps them off my list. Backup will be Highline and North Seattle.
What about you? I am STILL waiting for BC's response. They used to be my #1 pick, until I started reading reviews on their instructors (horrible!). Central Seattle's app window is still open until end of April if you wanted to apply???

Where are the reviews on BC's nursing instructors?
you can go to ratemyprofessor.com and look under the "all departments" for "nursing."
Damn those were disappointing, but I guess you have to adjust for the tendency of unhappy students to rate more frequently than happy ones. Anyways, good luck on getting into a school of your choice!
A bunch of the reviews were pretty specific...so I'm inclined to think there's at least some merit there. :/

None of the Bellevue instructors are bad per se. Most of them are very hard and pretty strict in their expectations, but they are all (at least all that I have had so far- and I am in 3rd quarter) fair and are all willing to help if you ask for it, but only if you are putting in the work. You really do have to take ratemyprofessor with a grain of salt. Some of my favorite professors have gotten bad reviews, and I truly believe it is because they are tough teachers and don't take excuses.

Thanks for the information jenngirl! How do you like the program so far?
Jenngirl, do students have any say in which professors they have for a class or is the class schedule pre-arranged by the program?
You have no say in your instructors. You have a theory class, a lab class, and a clinical. Everyone on your cohort is in the same theory class, and you get a new clinical instructor every quarter. There is only one lab teacher (who is absolutely awesome) for everyone.
I like the program a lot so far. It is really hard and I am really looking forward to Summer break, but I think it is a really good program.

Bellevue has good NCLEX scores! I figure even if the program is hard it will be worth it if I can pass that! :) I didn't apply at Seattle Central so I haven't researched their scores but I know Bellevue's are good.
