I applied last week to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing fulltime RN program because it didn't have any prereq's. I called to double check because that was different than the others I had looked into. Does anyone have any experience with this program? Any pros/cons?

Though about applying myself, but choose Quincy College. The cost for Brockton Hospital school seems quite high to me.
It did seem more expensive but they don't have any prereq requirements. Did you get in right away or were you on a waiting list? Did you do f/t or p/t? Did you do RN or LPN?
The next Quincy College program starts Sept 05 and I was told that I couldn't apply prior to finishing prereqs (makes sense) but was told that by the time I finished prereqs (may) then the program would be filled up and I'd have to wait for Sept 06. That's really what made my decision for me.
If for some reason I don't get accepted to BH SoN then I'll apply to the LPN at Quincy and do a bridge later.

Hi-
I graduated from Quincy's full-time RN program this past May. Yes, you have to finish prereq's before applying (and take a not-so-easy entrance exam). One thing to consider is that applying as soon as your able and waiting until '06 to start the program might not be a bad idea. If you can afford to take all (or most) of your non-nursing classes prior to starting the nursing program I HIGHLY recommend it....although your tuition each semester during the nursing program will remain the same regardless of how many classes you take (one thing that stinks big time...my education ended up costing a small fortune because of this fact---they don't deduct anything from the set rate each semester, even if you've already taken all of the non-nursing classes, so essentially I paid for all my non-nursing classes twice for the luxury of not having to take them together with nursing). I went to school year-round for 3 years, finishing pre-reqs, doing nursing during the semesters and taking non-nursing classes in the summer and winter sessions. I was REALLY glad I did it that way because the nursing class and clinicals sucks the life out of you and demand a ton of time and energy. I was glad to be able to focus ONLY on nursing. Several people in my class had other classes to deal with along with nursing and it wasn't fun for them at all. So anyway this is just my two cents here, I realize not everybody is in a position to be able to do things the way I did them, but if you are able, I recommend it. Good luck whatever you decide! There are a lot of good programs out there...I was happy with the education I got at Quincy.

HI
I read a message that you were a recent grad from the RN program at Quincy College. I have just started my first semester 3 weeks ago....our first exam is this monday! I am freaking. Clinicals start the following day which I am not freaking out so much about. I feel as though they dont help you prepare too much for the actual exams and there is so much info that i dont know where to focus...do you have any suggestions or ideas that helped you along your way?
Thank you so much and I hope you dont mind me sending you a message.
Take care
Kelli
