Anyone applying to Yale GEPN program for Fall 2009?

Published

Hi,

Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?

I was waiting to hear from you knowing that you live in NYC, Lola NYC. I am in New Haven, CT. Congratulation Everyone. Alright. :yeah::cheers:

Hey jnd1213, you cant go wrong with adult psych. So you know a friend of mine knew a psych NP who was earning 150K straight out of grad school in Ocala, Florida.

I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone that's gotten in!! Very exciting!

Looks like I'll be waiting a couple more days....

whats good about nursing is that if you ever get tired of your specialty or just think its not for you, most schools have programs where you can get a post-grad certificate and get certified in another specialty in as little as a year. I know its more time and money, but the nursing profession seems to be pretty flexible.

p.s. wow, do psych NPs usually make that kind of money? I didn't think it was that much but I guess it depends on a lot of factors like what state you work in, what setting you work in, etc?

Congratulations to all of you who got in so far!:yeah:Those of you who are waiting, hang in there! I am so excited for all of us and can't wait to meet you.

thanks for the input. yeah money is def something to think about...but i wouldnt make a switch solely bc of it...ive always been passionate about psych and have dedicated myself to it in college and for 3 years after school...but im finding myself really excited to get involved in other kinds of medicine...so im nervous that during the GEPN yr im going to be like, "wow, i love general medicine and this is what i want..."
