Anyone Applying to NGCSU for Fall 2013?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello! I just submitted my application to NGCSU for next fall. I'm trying to figure out what typical stats are...I have seen posts from previous years and I am getting discouraged about getting in! I didn't think I needed to take A&P and Micro before the application deadline so I will only have A&P 1 completed by then...I'm trying to figure out if that is going to seriously hurt my chances. I have a BS in Chemistry from NGCSU so I have several science classes but my GPA was low...I really want to go to school there!!!! Does anyone know typical stats for students that are accepted?

NikkiT09 did you get in or find out what ranking Armstrong will let you in with? I just took my TEAS today. I scored Proficient, with an adjusted individual score of 71.3%. The National Mean was 64.3%, and the Program Mean was 70.6%.[/quote']

I did not apply to Armstrong. Just North Georgia College and State University (which is now University of North GA)

For the sake of discussion lets say my GPA 3.4 or higher and I have 2 previous baccalaureate degrees. What is my chance of getting into Armstrong (AASU) with a TEAS score of 71.3%, which was considered a "Proficient" rating?[/quote']

I have no idea! I don't know about the nursing program at Armstrong. I'm not sure how they do their points.

Thanks! Thats not too bad at least:) I have to wait until mid to late march for georgia perimeter...ugh!

GPC is your first choice right?

Well I just got an email from the Nursing Department saying they have received my application. It also said that letters will be sent out around the first week in March! I'm super excited and and nervous all at the same time. Good luck to everyone who applied to the program!

Hopefully this thread picks up some more ppl now that it's getting closer!

Nikki,

GPC has been my first choice because the offer a summer semester which means you can finish in about 16 months...that would be nice since we're used to being a 2 income family! However, we are trying to move to the cumming area so any of the NGCSU campuses would be closer for me...so on the off chance I get in to NGCSU (I'm not counting on it:)) then I'll go there...my first choice was Oakwood and 2nd was Cumming so I guess we'll see! Good luck to you!

Oh wow! That's not bad at all! My first choice was Cumming. 2nd choice Oakwood. If mine gets mixed up in the mail bc of me moving I will definitely be giving them a call by the end of the month! Maybe I should tell the nursing department my address is my Parent's address since they won't be moving anywhere. Lol.

When does GPC send acceptance letters out?

In the past it has been mid march so hopefully this year won't be any different...they only look at your GPA from your core classes so I have a much better chance of getting in there...I would give them your parent's address just so you don't have to deal with forwarded mail I would go crazy if I knew I was waiting on that!!! I'm hoping NGCSU will send out letters mid Feb...I seriously doubt I'm going to get in because of my GPA but I'm just ready to know either way!

Oh ok. So you will know from both schools by mid March. That's good.

Yeah I emailed them and gave them my parents address. I probably would have went stir crazy not knowing bc I had to wait on the mail to fwd!

You never know what will happen at this point. You could get in both schools and have to choose btw the two.

Usually around this time there are more ppl on the threads but it has not been the case for this year's NGCSU nursing thread.

Maybe that means less applicants haha! Are you applying anywhere else or just NG?

Lol. It's a possibility! No I didn't this year. Just NGCSU.

It's still early February, but I'm nervous and anxious for those letters in early March! Oh, the wait!
