Anyone applying to the Duke ABSN program for Fall 2009 (c/o 2011)?

I submitted my completed application on November 23rd and I'm anxiously waiting. I attended the open house in September and fell in love with the program. I just thought I would check in here and see if anyone else is in the same boat. It would be interesting to have someone to commiserate with during this awful waiting game :) :typing

Hope the application process has wrapped up smoothly for everyone, and congratulations to CRNA1906 on the acceptance!

Just wanted to put out there that I finished up my application on Tuesday afternoon and submitted it right away--and I had an email this morning to schedule my interview! Woohoo! I hope all of you hear just as quickly, and I look forward to maybe getting the opportunity to meet you =).

Congrats on your interview offer MellifluouslyMedical!

I found out today that I have an interview offer as well :)

I guess half the battle is over now, what a relief!

Congrats to you both on getting interviews...I submitted my application on Wednesday and FedEx'd my transcripts to arrive on the same day, so hopefully I will hear something soon.

Just out of curiosity, when are your interviews? Are you going to be flying in for them? I live in Northern California and have not planned on making a trip out there.

Congratulations, jdcurly, on the interview, and congratulations, SFChef, on completing & submitting the application!

They offered me the choice of two interview dates that are Fridays in January, and one that's a Friday in February. I'm local, so it won't involve much traveling, and I'll likely go for one of the ones in January to keep the ball rolling...

Does anyone know what the appropriate attire is for the interview days? I'll probably plan on wearing a pant suit, although that may be too formal but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

That's a really great question KPod. I would just assume business casual, although I'm with you, it might be best to err on the side of caution and be a little over dressed. What does everyone else think?

I think I would err on the side of caution and go upscale business casual (like a pant suit--just like Kpod suggested). I think you want to look nice and professional, but also be comfortable.

I emailed Melissa and asked her for a status check on my application--she said I will be scheduled for an interview as soon as they receive my GRE scores, so probably next week. Yay! I'm excited to hear how the interview days go, because I don't plan on traveling to North Carolina for the day. I will just have a phone interview, so I hope someone will post about their experience at Duke Days (I'm not asking for inside information on interview questions, just information on how the day went and what cool things you saw or learned).

Hi everyone:

I also am scheduled to interview with Duke In January. I am very nervous. I applied at John Hopkins but didn't get accepted for early decision. Does anyone know how soon do they let you know?

Looking forward to see what happens with everyone.:heartbeat

Good luck everyone!

Hi Den,

Welcome...I am a fellow Hopkins rejectee as well, so good luck to you!

I think they let you know fairly quickly after the interview--maybe within a week or two. Are you going to fly out there for the interview?

Hi SPChef:

Thank you so much!! Same to you:coollook: Yes I will have to fly over there because I live in NY. NY is to crazy for me want to to a place where its more peaceful and quiet. Let's see what happens with my interview. I"m very nervous. Are you also applying to Duke?
