Anyone apply for the LVN Program at HCC Coleman in Houston for Fall 2013?

I applied about 2 weeks before the application was due and the counselor told they were gonna call or contact me about 2-3 weeks after June 1st about what to do next. I'm anxiously waiting! Anyone else in the same boat as me? I hope there is so I can feel better. I hate waiting!

I still haven't heard anything. Bria, maybe they're sending the letters out at different times? How far do you live from the school? Does your friend live close to the school?

Well,I just tried calling the dept, but the lady is on vacation or something until tomorrow, so maybe that means something? But then they did tell us that uniform fitting day is on August 2nd and we need to have our paperwork turned in that day, so I don't know unless they change it to next Friday, which I really hope so.

The uniform measurement is still this Friday but the deadline for the other paper work is aug 9th... I do stay to far from the school.. My coworker has a po box

Oh,ok. You didn't get the second letter today either? How do you feel you did on the interview? I live like 30 minutes from the school. I'm gonna be so mad and sad if I didn't make it in for fall 2013. I'm really hoping I get my letter tomorrow.

I think I did ok.. But my GPA is 3.8 so I would hope that would count.. I will be sad as well .. I will call Stephanie tomorrow and see.. Keep me posted

Well, I just got my rejection letter. :drowning: I'm going to mail back the form that I want to be considered for Spring 2014. In the meantime, I'll just get my CNA since I don't have that yet, and to show them that I am really serious about becoming an LVN. This makes me really sad, but I guess there's nothing I can do about it. I didn't apply anywhere else since I already had the prereq's for HCC Coleman. Man, that means I did that essay for nothing. I wonder if I'll have to do it for the spring 2014 semester.

I remember they said they accept 60, and 120 people applied, but I wonder how many get to the interview phase and how many people who get to the interview phase get rejected.

Sorry to hear that.. So I am sure I will get the same letter as you. I didn't apply anywhere else either. But I know going to apply for lone-star ADN program. Applications are open until 9/16 so try them as well

Awww... I'm sorry about that for you too. Are you going to try again for spring 2014? I wonder if we do, does that mean we'll have to do all that paperwork (the lvn nurse interview essay, the handwritten biography sketch) all over again.

What did you get on the TEAS?

Sorry y'all didn't get in, at least you now know what to expect they next time y'all apply and interview. I'm very anxious to apply. I'm applying the end of next month for spring 2014. What kind of essay did you have to write?

You have to interview a practicing LVN and type up a 2-3 page essay.

They also mail you a paper with lines where you handwrite about yourself and why you want to be an LVN and your goals.

Well, I mailed in my form that I want to be considered for Spring 2014, in the mean time I'm going to get my CNA certificate. I don't what I'm going to do if I don't get in for Spring 2014, probably just work as a CNA, but I really want to work my way up to eventually become an RN, but I want be an LVN first.
