Anyone here apply for Fall 2010 ADN program at Harper College

Published

Just curious!! The deadline for fall 2010 admission is March 15th, im anxious to find out if I got in :uhoh3:

that's funny! i got that letter too and was hoping it was the "official" letter too! i just want to see it on paper to make it more real! i wish they would at least put the fall schedule up so we could see what is going to be available. i have 2 little kids schedules to work around and it's hard trying to plan things out 6 months from now! i don't have a job right now to work around so that helps but i would love to have a part time one if i could handle it. it's good that both of you have most of the other coursework finished. you'd be amazed at how many people go into it with a 18 credit hour first sememster of nursing!

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to having to take Micro along with Patho the first semester....but I didn't want to have to mess with any of the other classes. I want to be able to focuse just on my nursing classes. I am taking Basic Pharmacology this summer so I have some sort of an intro.....so hopefully that helps, too!

I think that's the best way to go too. I got my letter of intent from Harper today so yours should be in the mail too!

No letter in the mail today, but I live in Mount Prospect so maybe tomorrow!

I got my letter in the mail yesterday! im super nervous too because I have a 3 yr old to arrange daycare for, I work part time but its overnight so Im wondering how thats gonna work with the nursing classes. When I went to the nursing meeting they gave me a mock schedule, basically the first 8 weeks u have patho monday mornings and then Nur 110 either tuesday or wednesaday from 8am to noon, and then you have Nur 112 either monday or tuesday from 1pm to 3 pm, the next 8 weeks of the semester its basically the same but now u add a clinical

oh sorry if you have micro or psy228 in the mock schedule they have it arranged so that you take it in the evenings

You can also view the clinical hours from this spring schedule to give you an idea too. Clinicals start the 2nd 8 weeks. Luckily my 3 yr old is in preschool and the school she's at has daycare avail from 6:30am to 6pm so when she finishes preschool they take her right to childcare if I'm not there for pick up. And psy228 you can also take online.

Yay, I got my letter today! I went to an info meeting last month, and they didn't give out a mock schedule....I asked about it and the lady said it would be all over the place. So I hope it hasn't changed, but that sounds reasonable to me.

I applied for the nursing program through my hospital job so we had separate mandatory info sessions and I think they gave us a mock schedule bc they know we have to continue working in the hospital to stay in the program so to give us a good idea of what our schedules are gonna look like...

So do u guys know how we go about registering for classes, do they do it for us? Because general registration begins april 12th...

I think I read some old posts where everyone kind of registers together, I will try e-mailing my friend in the program and ask her. They extended the deadline though, so I would think any meetings would be after all the program spots have been filled. My only concern is Micro....what if it fills up before that? I think they hold classes for students in the program, right?

Yes they hold the mon/wed micro for nursing students, but the girls that are in micro with me registered for micro on tues/thurs on their own. They were afraid the one class was gonna get full

I was just reading your posts and I actually have a questions regarding admissions to harper. How they rank students by, do they go by the nln score and gpa once they find all of the qualified applicants (students that have completed the pre-admission requierments?) Do they consider in-district students only? I just want to know how some of you guys were able to get into their program. Your response is greatly appreciated.
