Good morning Fellow NUrses.

I just I want to ask if its a mandatory to have some BLS and IVT training before I loge my application in St. Luke's ? Does anybody here who are right now in the training who had their trainings and seminars done? I'm planning to submit my resume nextweek after I'm done with my seminar in BLS.. Please enlighten me.. THanks for the help...

I'll be starting my training a few weeks from now. I never had any trainings or attended seminars outside of SLMC. I cannot say if those are "edges" since SLMC will also conduct their own trainings/seminars during the three month training period. And try to pass your resume as early as you can, I cannot tell if the slots are already full for GC, but the guard said that some applications are for manpooling purposes, maybe if there are available slots wherein some who passed the training are not qualified because of some medical issues, or to some who keeps on getting absent within the 3 month training period (in short: vacant slots)

Actually, the only thing they needed for your application is just your resume and that's it. Have your resume in the best possible pose and a "good" aura, you will need that (just don't give photos from 1980's)

I graduated March 08, and took my NLE June 08. I also got a bad NLE rating, I don't think it does matter. For as long as you keep a good posture, grooming, and smart thinking.. it's all that matters. ^_^

super wow!!!!... so we share the same agony...I really thought that it does matter especially in St. Luke's.. weew.. what a great relief again.. ^_^ ... Know what you're so lucky indeed.. I do have a good friend of mine which is she graduated as a Cum Laude in her school..same batch as you do..but she ended up in a call center as an agent.. and me... well..Just finding my luck in everywhere where my feet leads me..( w/ fingers crossed )...mostly of my friends in FEU are all umployed.. well let's just say your one of the luckiest people wo had the opportunity to be a part by ST. Lukes... weew... Good luck in your new career !!! ( my bow my majesty !! ) hahahaha!!!

It's not being lucky. God has purpose why He has to put me here. I'm not fond of being lucky or such, as long as you keep you faith alive, there is nothing impossible to Him. For now, all you need is to wait for something to happen, if it is really your destiny, so be it. If not, there are other things that can be done, like your friend, maybe there is a purpose why she is working as a CSR. (not just by fate alone, but with mere patience). She just doesn't want to waste her time that's why she is working in a call center. Try to push your chance, and ask your friend too, and why don't she consider taking up Master's Degree and teach BSN. I know some schools who accepts (heartfully) those who have Latin honors with / without MA units. ^_^

For SLMC, just be in your best corporate attire even while passing your resume. pass it as early as you can, maybe at around 8am - weekdays, and the guard (i always forget his name) will give you a schedule (it's not him who really gives the schedule - it depends on the availablity of the initial exams - depends on HR staff)

hi everyone...

for those who already had their medical exam, can u please give us an overview on the process of this? what are the tests performed?

i will be having my medicals this tue.. too bad i have my cough and colds right now, but im having my rest and really taking my medicines.. i hope i'll be ok asap..

You'd be taking the following examinations:

1) Hepatitis B Screening Antigen

2) CBC

3) CXR

4) Urinalysis

5) Stool Exam

If you got a family history of Diabetes or Allergies, you will undergo OGT (8 hours NPO) and Allergy test (forgot what kind of test that was) respectively

I might suggest you should have it all cleared (get well) since this will greatly affect your CXR and CBC especially your WBC's (inc. WBC count)

Kyckerz.. thanks you very much for your inspiring message ..yeah your right,.. God has a purpose in every one of us..However , it depends upon how we deal upon our destiny.. okay I'll take your advice.. Thank you very much for your endearing understanding about my sentiments... May God Bless you as well as your family...

Is the IQ exam given the same day you pass your resume??

Can someone please give me a link on where i can improve my IQ? thanks.

And also, are they still hiring? Its march now and SLMC-GC is slated to open this Oct of 2009, am i too late? please enlighten. thank you

Lorodz:

Initial examination (not an IQ test) consists for 50+ questions which focuses on standard IQ test. Unlinke a traditional IQ test, it should be answered within 15 minutes. Types of questions consists of word analogies and number sequences. There are lots of sample IQ questions over the net and you can search it through any search engine. Practice makes perfect. And also, you can improve your IQ though ADL.

Regarding your query about GC hiring and opening, I got no news for now. The last time I was there (about 2 weeks ago) they are still accepting resumes and conductiong their initial examinations. It really depends how early (maybe 5am?) you passed your resume, or depends on HR's memo, whether they'd make the applicants get the initial exams the same day or not. It really depends. Break a leg and God bless.
