Anyone applied to Salisbury University's ABSN for Fall 2009?

Just seeing if I am the only one! I've gotten all my admissions stuff in, and hope to get an interview and be accepted!

hello!

i am 25, female, I have a bachelors from University of San Francisco in Marketing, GPA 2.68 (bad, i know!). My background is working as an office manager for a holistic nutritionist, being a nanny, and i also completed a CNA course...I highly recommend this, its usually 5 weeks, in the evenings and it gives you a taste of things (bed changes, diaper "brief" changes, feeding (like for a baby, but you do it for the elderly in a nursing home)..it will also show that you are serious and kind of know what you are getting into.

You should have a really great essay. I wrote mine about a marathon I ran ( and raised $2500 for Leukemia and lymphoma) and how it will compare to the challenges of nursing school.

Here are my stats

API-B

AP2-B

Microbiology-A

Chemistry-A

Nutrition-A

Psychology-A

Human Growth/Dev-probably A or B

Statistics-Probably B

I had a recommendation from a doctor (the one i worked for) and an RN (the teacher at the CNA course)...also a former colleague from the doctor's office)...you should get the most highly credentialed people to write those rec's.

I still only got WAITLISTED at Salisbury for this Fall 2009. The waitlist isn't numbered so if any new spots open up, they evaluate the whole bunch over again. I still need to submit this semesters grades...so maybe that will help.

i think your biggest issue is that you don't have A's in your science classes. Schools are extremely competitive now....i really think it will be hard for you. Maybe if you work as a CNA part time for at least 6 months and/or VOLUNTEER at a hospital for a year, that will help you.

those grades of yours show me that you probably haven't figured out the best study style for yourself because you aren't retaining the material and your C grades reflect that you are only retaining between 70-80%. Take an online tests that shows you your learning style. I am very visual so I use lots of different color pens, I draw lots of comparative charts, and take notes in big letters, just so I can recall them later from memory during a test. I also study the teachers note's more than the text book, they are a summary and tell you what you need to know for the test. GET A STUDY BUDDY, my grade ALWAYS improves, even if i know more than the other person, it helps you zone in one what is important and what will be on the test. Plus it helps to learn things if you explain them to another person.

Good Luck---

Hi all,

I was recently accepted to salisbury university's masters fnp program for the fall of 2009.

I live on the eastern shore, so communicating to baltimore to UMD or hopkins is really not much of an option.

Udel and distance learning

are an option, but salisbury is significantly less expensive than any other program that I can find.

Anyways,

I'm hoping someone out there is in or has graduated from SU's FNP program, and can give me any advice or information regarding. I am just curious what people think of the program...

Thanks

I just got accepted to the ASBN program starting Fall 2009!! anyone needing housing??? I want to live with another ASBN student that values QUIET! Please message me. I am female, 26, with 2 mainly outdoor cats.

Hello,

My husband has applied to ABSN program for Fall 2009 at Salisbury University. And he is on wait list. But as they don't provide the wait list number, it is hard for us to make any decision. Can you please tell me what are the acceptance changes for him? He is a homoepathic doctory and has a Bachelors in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (out of US) degree. He also has 3 years of patient experience (out of US) and 1 year as shadowing/volunteer experience in US.

Also, did you have to pay any kind of Acceptance Fee ($200)?

Please help us. Thank you.

Congrats Roses623 on your acceptance. Can you please help me for my husband?

Thanks ABSN Admission. Once I got the acceptance I paid the $200 to the school. Good Luck!!!!

You Welcome...Thank you for your reply Roses623.

Can you please clarify one thing that did you pay $200 when you got acceptance (admitted in the school, i.e. got acknowledgement letter from Salisbury that you got accepted in the school BUT this is not for acceptance in the Nursing Program) or when you got admission in Nursing program.??

As for my husband, they sent an email for acceptance (i.e. admitted in the school but not in the program) and He is on wait list, and we haven't received any Acceptance letter from Nursing Department. But the school wants us to pay $200. What should we do?

Thank you again for your reply and can you please post the reply for above questions ASAP... Thanks again...

No, i only paid the $200 AFTER I got accepted by the nursing school, when they called to tell me of my acceptance they then transferred me to the bursars office so I could pay that $200, then they sent me a contract to state my intent to come to the school

good luck!!

Thank you Roses623. I am in perplex situation now as tomorrow (Jun 1st) is the last day to pay $200 and the college is saying that if I don't pay then I might not get admission. Please guide whom should I talk in the college.

Thank you.

they can admit you until the day before classes start. good luck.
