Hey fellow Allegheny Valley students. I was recently accepted to start in 2009 as well! Everyday I look up new information about Pittsburgh and CRNA education. I'm from Grand Rapids Michigan and will be moving around August. I'm really looking forward to meeting you, as we will probably be spending a lot of time together! Do you guys have any idea what area you're going to move too?
Hi to you both. I am from Pittsburgh and actually work at Allegheny General Hospital where we interviewed- such a great place. I hope that you both will really like it here. I think Pgh will be less snow than Michagan!
I am excited and nervous about starting school. How long have you guys been nurses and what types of units did you work on?
Excited to meet some fellow classmates!
If you have any questions just about Pgh let me know. My name is Leah by the way. How about yours?
Ram RN and AGHTRAUMA, I am so glad to hear from you.
We will be spending alot of time together I'm sure.
Our lives are about to change.....how exciting.....eat, sleep, study, class, clinical, eat, sleep, study, class, clinical....
I've been out of school since 1997 so this will def. be a change.
My husband and I will also be moving to Pittsburgh in Aug. From what I hear the North Hills area is good and many former out of state students live there.
AGHTRAUMA let me know if you have any other suggestions on places to live.
I'm sure we will all have many more questions so lets keep in touch! For me to be able to send you a private message, you have to have 15 posts (I think).
Thanks
Kellee
My name is Jason. Leah, you didn't interview on November 10 did you? I briefly met a person who worked at AGH that was interviewing the same day. I've been a nurse for about 3 years. 1 year in a neuro ICU/intermediate ICU. And 2 years in a medical/surgical ICU. I do have a question about Pgh. Do you know if Bellevue is a nice place too live? My wife and I have seen some cheap home rentals in that area. Thanks!

Admin words of wisdom:
EVERY post at AN is indexed by Goggle/Yahoo. Best not to have real names in posts as no longer anonymous---best to share in PM's if desired.
Not quite sure how to post a PM but it would be good if we could email each other.
The North Hills is a great area to live in- that is actually where I live. Convenient for everything. I love it. Bellevue is part of the North Hills area and is pretty nice. You have to be a little careful where you choose but it is safe and a good school district if you have children. Other nice places in the North Hills are Cranberry, Wexford, Franklin Park, Emsworth, Ben Avon. Lots of option but I highly recommend the North Hills. It is a little more rural too but if you are looking for city life then the North Side (little shakey area), Shady side (fabulous area) are good places. Not that we wil be spending much time sleeping!!!!
And yes I did interview on Nov. 10th so we met-- Congrats!! I thought that might be you if you were from Michigan.
I have been a nurse for almost 3 years in the Trauma/ Surgical ICU at AGH.
I am so excited to have found you guys on here. It is nice knowing that there are others already accepted too. Talk to you all soon. And let me know if you have any questions.

I used to live in Bellevue - very nice and handy to everything, no Allegheny city taxes.
Hi All,
Just wanted to see if anyone heard from school yet? I have not heard anything or got any paperwork.
