Anybody work at Vanderbilt Childrens?

U.S.A. Tennessee

I will be new grad RN this July and am thinking about moving to TN. My wife is a nurse and her mother lives in Lebanon. We are trying to decide on moving either to TN, or maybe go back to Dallas Tx. Dallas Children Medical center offered awesome learning opportunities and pretty good pay. The only real negative is you have to schedule 12 hours of overtime every other week. I'm just trying to get an inside scoop on Vandi if anybody can help. Thanks

I have some friends there and did my peds clinicals at VCH. It is amazing!! Their benefits are amazing, especially if you have a desire to pursue further education....they even pay 1/2 of your children's college. As a teaching hospital you have the opportunity to really learn alot. The atmosphere is great, and Vanderbilt on a resume speaks volumes. It is a very coveted place to work. I had a child there as a patient last year and the nurses were above and beyond my expectations...so I highly recommend it!!

Good Luck,

Hi! I have worked there for almost 2 years now. I came there as a new grad. I have enjoyed my experience there and can't imagine leaving the system....their benefits are that great. From what I hear, pay is about average. But, overall, they really take care of their staff.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

Teri
