Hello. Just wondering if anyone recently started or will be starting LPN classes. My official start date is October 27, 2014. Mon- Fri 8am-5pm. I have a 7 month old who will be at home also. I'm so ready to get my Practical Nursing Diploma. I have orientation on the 20th! I'm so excited. I'll be attending Athena Career Academy. Toledo, OH. Grad date is 10/23/2014. I know every school has a bad rep so I just chose one that fit me perfectly. Im ready to dig into some Anatomy&Physiology, and definately some Fundamentals of Nursing. My tuition is fully covered I don't owe the school a penny! Any tips? Any thoughts? First Day Of Class Jitters? Textbooks? Curriculum? Routines With A Baby? School? State? Any New Mothers? Young Women? Young Men? Anybody? Just looking to see who's excited to start school with me!!

Congrats! School can be more of a challenge with a lil one, but just like you stated above, you need to get her/him into a routine. This will make the transition easier on the two of you. Good Luck!
Thank you! Yes I know it can be very difficult I don't underestimate the challenge at all. I'll just work on a routine and I can like knock 2 birds with one stone. Like Study/Cartoon time or something. But in the end it will all be worth it.

I am in the process of application and TEAS V test taking. I take my test Nov. 3... Interviews are Nov.7th-Dec 30th, We find out Dec. 31st. and program starts Jan. 20th. M-Th 6:30-2:30
I also am a wife and mother of 3... lots of juggling!
Wonderful! 3 kids isn't bad at all and its totally worth it. Thankfully I was able to transfer my WorkKeys scores before they switch to the Teas V Test In January. Also the program I got in is First Come First Served. There seems to be a high demand for LPN in Ohio.

Hi there!
I started my lpn journey three weeks ago, and I have to say I love it! I'm in a 15 month program and all instructors are very helpful. And my classmates, and I have a "We are in this together attitude" lol but there are some down sides. They give a lot of homework and quizzes, so it's like ur always doing homework or studying for test. If I didn't have a 1 year old and a very needy boy friend things would be a little easier. A piece of advice, get organized. Make a study schedule and work it around ur family, so u get your work done and ur family time in so nothing is neglected. Good luck with ur studies!
Thank you. All great advice. I also have a 7 month old and very clingy boyfriend. I've just accepted the fact that over the next 13 months half of me is dedicated to school. I really hope that I run into some nice girls that I can study with. I'm always the outcast lol. But if not then hopefully my instructors will be as helpful as yours. Lord knows I'm gonna need them.

Congratulations on starting your program. I was going to attend that school but then I heard about Toledo practical school of nursing and I decided to go there, they were ranked number two in Toledo as the best program in Ohio and also tuition was $5000 lesser. But I wanted to ask you how is it going? is it what you thought it would be? is it easy or hard?
