Hello I'm new here, I just want to know if anybody from MN here took this CNA exam? I need some advice and ideas on:
-what to do?
-what not to do?
-what to remember?
-what to wear on the test site?
-Do I need to wash hands in every skills
-Do I need to wear gloves when feeding?
Please I need your help because I am getting nervous here :)
Thanks in advance and God bless!

Hello, I am not sure if you have taken your test yet but I took the examination in MN last year. It is not as bad as I thought it was going to be and the examiners were really nice.
Study the Home Health Aide stuff for the written exam, there was a lot of weird questions about it on there.
For the skills, I wore a simple scrub outfit. I brought my own transfer belt but I belive they had all supplies (transfer belts, gloves, linens, basins, etc) on site. I walked in and picked skills from a hat. The first skill is always hand-washing. After that you just say something like, "washes hands" or pretend to wash you hands before each skill, just like you would pretend to pull the privacy curtain. I practiced all of my skills many times with friends and family members and did them all by the book. I.e. Enter the room, greet resident, check name braclet, explain what I am going to do, wash my hands, gather supplies, etc etc
At work I do not wear gloves when feeding a resident but I'm not sure, you might want to double-check
Hi Shaylamn, Thank you so much :) I really appreciate it. My exam would be on Febuary and I am nervous. May I ask how many skills did they ask you to do? and I have a Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Skill Sheets here but I wonder why it didn't say about wearing gloves when making an occupied bed.
Thanks again :) hope to hear from you again soon.
God Bless!
