I worked in Maui for 3 months over the summer through core med and they did not pay my housing. I changed companies after that assignment obviously but I enjoyed working there very much! It was crazy expensive and I didn't make any money but it felt like a paid vacation. I would go back in a heartbeat if I didn't have my pets since you can't bring them with you.
Girl I work for Core now and the way they do housing sucks so I'm definitely NOT going all the way to Hawaii with them. Were the people nice? Another traveler I work with said that Maui was boring. I get offers for Hilo and Honolulu a lot. It seems to be ALOT of Hawaii jobs out there. The pay isn't all that but it is a paid vacation and if you get a company that pays for everything that's a plus.
I loved Maui because it was a slow pace with relatively low tourist life (especially upcountry where I lived). It was just picture perfect every day and Maui has the most public beaches than the other islands so I went to a new beach or snorkel spot almost every time for 3 months! Another traveler from the same company left her contract early she hated it so much though, I didn't understand why! I'm trying to go back!
I went to Honolulu to get my license and stayed for the weekend. It was still paradise but i was REAL touristy and crowded. I don't think I'd like it there compared to Big Island or Maui.

I am currently on my first assignment in New Hampshire. Its freezing and snowy here and I am looking to go somewhere hot next. I have been offered an assignment in Hawaii and I really want to go. I'm a little nervous because I will be by myself, but not so nervous that I wont go. I'm just curious about how it is to actually live there and work as a nurse. Has anyone ever been on assignment in Hawaii and if so, How has it been?
