Butterflylove1- did you apply for financial aid or are you going through a bank? I'm having to get loans through financial aid and have no idea what to do while I wait for them to get approved!

Hey KKhappy! I am doing it through financial aid to see if they could offer me loans and I will also try to apply to scholarships although I don't really know how to do it yet lol

Congratulations everyone for being accepted! For anyone on the wait list you still have a great chance to get in this semester! For those talking about scholarships, you can apply for scholarships thought the college of nursing your first semester (unfortunately that means no scholarship money for your first semester). I highly recommend everyone apply for the scholarships, there is a lot of money available for nursing students. You can find the application and instructions on the college of nursing website. Good luck everyone!

So I checked my financial aid and I am completely covered for spring semester :) Now I just have to get all my paperwork done !

That's great butterflylove! I also got financial aid but only enough to cover tuition! Gotta turn to personal loans for living expenses...yuck!

Thanks TristanNicole! What should we expect going into our 1st semester? I'm sure you get asked this all the time but I'm.so nervous! I hear so many horror stories about people failing out...I don't foresee myself failing but its still unnerving to hear.

Yup I got some grants but I also accepted a loan for extra expenses! Maybe next semester like tristannicole said we can apply for WSU nursing scholarship. We could probably get letters of recommendation from one of our professors. Hey kkhappy I also heard some stories from my friend. All we can do is work hard and not give up and try to stay strong while taking care of our health also. It will not be easy but so worth it at the end!

Hey all,

Don't stress about "failing out" it's actually not as common as you think, you've worked hard this far and achieved good grades! The college is also really great about working with you to keep you on track and even if you do fail a class, that doesn't mean they are going to kick you out! You'll learn how to manage everything you need to do, J1 is more getting use to the million things you have than it is hard (I'm not saying it's easy though).

Yes! The most likely person you'll get your letter of recommendation from is your clinical instructor or maybe seminar instructor. You'll get to know them the best and them you so make a good relationship with them!

TristanNicole thank you for all your advice! I think it will calm us down a little before we start the program. I am also nervous but I am more excited!
