Hi,
I just applied for the LVN program at Western Career College. Do we have any WCC grads out there? Care to share your experience with me? I am really on edge, not knowing what to expect. Still have the HESI A2 exam to go (never heard of this exam; is it difficult?)
Thanks,
Mike
If I could GET INTO a four year college...ALL of my pre-reqs are 7-years past, which means a Uni will require me to take them ALL over again (I asked...) At least with this (admitedly overpriced school), everything is included. At the end of the 18-months, I can take the NCLEX-PN and start work as an LVN.
The only pre-requsites affected by the "7 year rule" are the science ones. The rest should be fine.

Hey, I went to Grant! Over there off Hwy. 50. Years ago though...can't even remeber what I took! lol.
I graduated in 2005 and the program was $5,000, it is now $8,000. It had two pre-requisites (med. terminology and human anatomy) to get in and an easy enterance exam. I got in first try, no wait, no lottery. I ended up graduating from Sierra College BEFORE I got exepted into their program due to the lottery, so I gave Grant a try. Grant is an adult education school that is designed for working adults. 3 classses a week. The instruction was great and it was the best decision I have ever made. Your clinicals will be at Sutter General in downtown Sac, as well The Shriners hospital, and sutter memorial.
How long total program time?
Classes and labs are done on McCleallan AFB.
That's convienent. A straight shot up Madison for me...
Mike
The nursing program is 23 months at 3 days a week. The pre - requsites are the standard 3.5 month semesters and both can be taken at the McCleallan AFB location. You have a choice of going to clinicals Thurs or Fri...or Tues and Weds. Mondays will always be a 6 hour theroy class.
Ouch. That's almost as long as some RN programs.
yes, but when you add up the low cost (compared to private schools), the ability to get in quick, the ability to work while you go to school etc etc. It all works out.
:chuckle Yeah, B, but @#$%, I went through a lot of trouble to make sure I'd be able to NOT have to work while I did this! :chuckle
