Any way to set (regular) reminders in EPIC?

Published

I recently started a new job which uses EPIC as its MAR. If I wanted to set regular reminders in my MAR (not patient specific, not something I'd have to set everyday) is there a way to do this?

IE if I wanted a reminder at 10pm every shift to pop up saying record patient weight.

I think something like this would be infinitely useful to a nurse with less experience Ina new specialty, but I have no idea how to do it

Also in advance I'm aware that there's some sort of way to add patient specific reminders on the brain. But having to do that every shift seems rather tedious

If you are referring to a pop up window, I'm not aware of how that can be done.

You can, however, add your own tasks to your work list.

  1. Navigate to your work list and left click the "Task Management" button (lower left corner of window).
  2. This opens the "Task Management" window, and provides a list of categories with pre-populated tasks.
  3. The "My Tasks" or "Tasks or Others" categories provides a blank task option which allows you to create custom, free text entries. Tasks created using the "My Task" option are only visible to you, while tasks created using the "Tasks for Others" option are visible to anyone viewing the task list.

Hopefully this information is helpful. If you are able to find a method to create a pop up window reminder, please come back and post it here.

Thanks I'll try this! I'm trying to picture this in my head, but not sure if I've seen it or not.

I'm honestly leaning towards just getting a smart watch and setting up an app with that, as I'm sure it'll be easier!

there is a work list that should have the tasks you need. Especially weights.
