Any way to "liven" Psych Reading Up?

OK, I just started my Psych course and wow...it's a hybrid class and we'll only be meeting twice a week in the classroom. All of our assignments and reading must be done at home and online. With that being said, this is our first week and when I go online and look at the assignments for the week, we have to read page #s 1-30 and take a test on it all before Sunday. :uhoh3:

I've read and took notes for 10 pages, noting what I feel is the most important out of the text...but is there any way you guys make your excessive reading less of a bore during the more interest-lacking chapters? Every once in a while, something will catch a deeper interest for me, but it fades right back out. I feel it's because we're in the chapter discussing the history of Psychology, the people in the past that did studies, what they achieved, etc...and it's a lot of people to keep in mind! LOL, any pointers on livening it up just a little bit?!

Ahh yes! I just started Psych this week too. I had to break up the reading because I was not retaining it all and losing focus. My course came with mypsychlab as well and I found the practice exams really helpful. I had to read the section about the different "founders" of psychology A LOT because there are a lot of names to remember. I've skipped ahead and skimmed the next few chapters and it does get more interesting. So there's that to look forward to. :)
