Any Washington State Excelsior Hometown students or grads -looking for advice

Published

Wondering if there were any Washington State Excelsior AAS Nursing students or grads who I could use for encouragement and advice. I will be starting this program very soon.

Hello!

Hope a Wash state member responds + can dish about this nursing program.

Specializes in Emergency.

Hello,

I'm in Tacoma and I am almost finished with the exam portion of the program. I have a couple of friends who have completed this program and are working as RN's. I like the program, but keep in mind that you have to be self motivated. No one will push you to study and you must rely on creating tactics for yourself. I adapted well to this style of learning but honestly, I would've loved to do traditional school but I couldn't fulfill all the pre-req's to the pre-req's and get in the nursing program without compromising my favorite habits of food and shelter.

Do you have any specific questions about the Excelsior program? I can tell you that it works for me and I am getting nervous about the CPNE since it is getting close. Also, don't bother with any of the study guide companies, I know someone who did and I saw the materials, not great. Use the provided study guides, get the books off of EBay, Alabris, Amazon or any other reseller.

Let me know what else I can answer and of course, others should pipe in with their experiences, because I could go on and on.
