Any suggestions On Nsg Health Safety Exam

Hello I am new to this forum and I have really enjoyed reading everyones suggestions and help. I have been a L.P.N. for 22yrs and tried some of the Excelsior exams years ago and needless to say did not do well. I am going to try again and need all the advise I can get. I will be taking the Concepts 104 Essentials of Nursing Care Health Safety first and if anyone that has taken it can give me advise on content to study for I would very much appreciate the information. When I studied before I think I went to broad and was over welmed. I am going to do this for me this time and I look forward to meeting a lot of new friends on the way. Thanks again:nurse:

Awesome not to far. I thought georgia was one of the states that was going to stop excepting Excelsior Grads? I hope your not affected..

It was but isn't anymore...but if you don't have that much experience working in a hospital they require you to do 350 preceptorship hours at a hospital .....I kno someone who just graduated two months ago...when do you plan on finishing your core?

I used Saunders NCLEX review, practice exams and some of Studygroup101 notes. I passed this exam without a lot of studying but I would not advise you to do the same. If you study adequately and purchase the practice exams from EC you can get an "A" quite easily. Remember the Practice exams are GOLDEN!

Thank you Determined2b for the information I'm going to get one. Jennifer I started to do that one first ? Dont know why I didnt. How much time should I give between each test? I dont want to be studing when Im 60 ? haha But at the rate Im going it could happen...

I've read where some people on this site test once a month or within two to three wks, I want to take my first test next month so that will give me about 6 wks of prep only because its my first exam...but I would love to be finished by December.

So would I that would be great I just dont want to fail any exams because Im afraid Ill get discouraged and lose my drive, guess Im afraid to take the first one because I failed them years ago and just stopped trying.

I went ahead and paid for it today along with the practice exam. Any suggestions on how long I should set around dreading it! haha or should I say scared to take it..

I was goin to give myself a date on when to have da material read n then work on the practice tests..I guess it depends on when,how often, and how long you can study each time..but I would set a date for the test that way u would stay focused cuz u have a deadline
