The job market in the bay area seems to be saturated with nurses and on top of that, lvns find it harder to find an entry level job. Any suggestions to how I can weasel myself in the medical field as a lvn.

Perhaps you would be willing and desperate enough to commute to the Central Valley or far northern CA for work. Be willing to commute within a 100 mile radius for work, although I know that this might be very inconvenient on one's life. Apply to all of the facilities (especially SNFs) within a 100 mile radius of your home, and follow up with a thank-you card if you have not received a callback within a couple of weeks.

Jboo510, it may be hard for you to land a hospital job as a LVN in the Bay Area. Many hospitals (Kaiser, and others) are eliminating LVNs and going to all BSN nurses (as this helps them with Magnet status).
You might have better luck in LTC/SNFs or in Corrections. I've seen job openings for LVNs in both areas.

I see things for LVNs on craigslist. Also try careerbuiler and the VA, they use LVNs.
