I wanted to know what the difference is in what you learn when going an RN program or a PA program?
I understand the years of education involved but wanted to know how both programs differ as far as the curriculum or what is being studied.
I feel the RN program is more intense than a PA program, I could be totally wrong. Is that the case? Any tips are welcomes. I have an interest in both just trying to figure out each programs studies and methods. Thanks :)
You are asking the wrong question. You cannot compare RN and PA. RN is an undergraduate degree which permits you to be a nurse who carries out orders written by a physician, PA or NP. PA is a graduate degree for those with a bachelor degree, and permits you to work with a supervising physician as a medical provider. If you want to compare, you'd have to compare PA with NP, not with RN.
you didn't understand my question. We aren't comparing the profession. ...we are comparing the educational learning experience.
The answer is there: The NP and PA curriculum are more rigorous than RN or BSN. There's no point in comparing them because they are different jobs.
This was my question.....
" difference is in what you learn when going an RN program or a PA program"
What I am asking is...WHAT you learn. I know the differences in the degree one can earn and the years it takes. I know the differences in what the careers are and what they do. I am asking about the educational learning experience. Thanks for your input though. I could understand how you could have read the question the wrong way.
The PA program is aligned with the medical model which is what physicians learn and use.The RN program is aligned with the nursing model, which is more holistic in approach to the patient.
They greatly differ, from what I have heard the PA program is more intensive and harder for most people. This does not means one is better than the other, they are just 2 different scopes of practice.
thank you....this answers my questions :)
