I made the mistake (from the common consensus on here) and went with College Network for my LPN to RN.
I didn't have my computer up when I made the decision to go with CN.
So now I am stuck.
But has anyone else gone with them and are working on the study guides now?
If so are you interested in helping each other?
Let me know I would appreciate it. It's kinda hard to do it on your own a little support always seems to help.
Thanks
Angie

Hi There.. I was just wondering why you felt as though you made a mistake in attending Excelsior.. I have a meeting on tuesday to start the program and I've been really uncertain about taking this route.. My only problem is I have exactly one year to complete my RN training and all the schools require a ton of prereq's... What do you think?? Should I do it?? I'm already an LPN.. So I figured it should be easier for me, since I just finished a program... Help me please!!

I had heard it was better to just go through Excelsior instead of messing with College Network first. I don't feel I made a mistake by going through Excelsior. You just hear all kinds of pros and cons hard to know where to go.
But I am going through with it and will see it to the end.
Well I am currently and LPN I know that Excelsior and College Network require some prereqs. But with being an LPN already I personally think it is easier. Plus I have a family and have to work full time also.
Hope this helps

How long have you been working on study guides with college network?
Right now I am working on the Health Safety guide right now.
I will PM you my email address and we can correspond that way. I think it would help to be able to have some one to bounce answers off of.
PS Good Luck on the 17th

I also just joined the College Network to obtain my BSN through ISU. I need someone for guidance and motivation since I'm just overwhelmed (work and life not the material). I can easily get through the books especially after completing Human Physiology at a local college. Anyone interested in studying together would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lia

I would be glad to help if I can PM me if you need anything
Thanks for the reply. I actually want to contact them since they sent all the material in one shipment when I informed them that I only want one at a time.
I'm trying to do at least 1-2 a month but I easily get sidetracked. Any tips to get me focused and on my way to completion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

Are you doing the ISU LPN-BSN through TCN? How is it going for you?

TCN is just a publishing company. I made the expensive mistake of not researching before I signed with them. You don't need to go through them at all to get an ADN, just go directly to Excelsior. TCN told me I needed to take 6 humanities credits when I just need 3 so they could sell me another module. Don't let them evaluate your credits-they got mine all screwed up and EC is the one giving the degree not TCN! I honestly haven't used the modules much at all, all the same info is in the nursing books I already own. Oh well lesson learned LOL:cry:.

Bandee,
When I used Excelsior I did the only thing I knew that would make me teach myself really quikly. I paid for my test and would set the date 3-5 days from the time I rec'd my study material. All worked out perfectly too. I did this with all of them except A&P and for that I studied two weeks.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.
By the way, I used Chancellors Study Guides. Loved that it was the set of books and audio.
