Hi, Everyone
I wanted to know if anyone applied or attending Excelsior based on 50% clinical, if anyone is attending based on 50% clinical based on what circumstances you have applied. I have applied based on 50% clinical because I compledte 2 years of nursing program but I did not graduate. So please tell me if Excelsior accepts students based on 50% clinical.

This was my original situation, then I got an LPN license. Yes, they do accept people based upon completion of 50% of an RN program. But be aware that 50% of the clinical portion must be passed successfully in order to do this. It is the clinical portion that is considered important.

Hi,
I completed 50% of traditional nursing, but unfortunately did not pass my last sememster. I am completing my nursing through EC. So far I am very happy with EC. Best of Luck!.

Traci,
Can you give me some advise on EC? Good, bad, ugly? Im applying from a traditional college of nursing because I have now fallen behind based on having to repeat 2 classes. What do you wish someone else would have told you before you went to EC? Is the support for the instructors enough for learning what you need? Have you taken any of the exams yet?
Julie
Most of the info I found out about EC is actually through here at allnurses.com. I failed my traditional RN last May. It really took me some time to come to terms with it. I took my first EC exam in October. I took health safety and I did not study for it at all. I really thought that I didn't need to.. As it turns out I should have, because I failed. Then I thought about not doing RN school ever again, because I felt like such a failure. When I got the money to take another exam I did. I took Chronicity in February and passed. I took Health Differences in March and did not pass. I think it took some time for me to re-evaluate my studing. I had to change my whole frame of thought. I took my Health Differences 1 a few weeks ago and passed with a "B". I was psyched. I have my Reproductive Health exam on June. 20. I needed this test to build up my confidence. Nursing school as I am sure you know takes a real toll on you. In the past when I was studing I think I was overwhelming myself with the info that I pulled out. I had stuff everywhere. On my last exam before I went in to take it I reviewed the "How to take a RN exam". I have read this hundreds of time, but never before an exam. I also didn't review my notes before the exam. Which I always do. Anyway reading the test taking tips really stuck in my head and gave me a different outlook on answering my questions.
Most people I talk to do not know anything about EC. I have called EC numerous times and they have always been helpful and very pleasant. The longest period was waiting for the acceptance. I haven't had to contact any instructors, but EC does offer chat sessions that may help. I hope this helps.. I know it is long. Best of luck..
