My career goal is to one day have my own med spa offering botox and filler injections. I live in Texas and I believe Texas will allow RNs to perform these injections under an NP or PA. Does anyone have any information about how to go about this? I have been trying to find more information but its hard getting an exact answer since states have different laws.

Can a Non-Physician Own a Med Spa?

Quote

The short answer is "no". But don't be discouraged. In Texas, nurse practitioners, estheticians, and other non-physicians cannot own a med spa, also known as a medi-spa or medical spa. Nevertheless, a non-doctor may be involved in the day-to-day operations of a med spa via a management services organization (MSO).

You are correct:  Texas will allow RNs to perform these injections under an NP or PA post their assessment of client.

The Texas Medical Board’s general regulations for physician delegation to lesser-trained providers, including nurses and technicians, apply to medical spas.

Since 2013, the Board has enacted additional rules that target medical spas in particular. You can find the rules, which were amended in 2019, at Texas Administrative Code Section 193.17
