Not sure if this is the right place for this kind of discussion. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm April, 19 and will be attending laguardia this fall as a freshman. :unsure:I'm not in the clinical phase yet, so I believe the school consideres me an Undeclared Health major until I do reach it. Just wondering is anyone starting out at laguardia as well and perhaps we could get to know each other. :D

I really hope the cut off is 3.0. I also applied for fall 2018! Cant wait to find out. Good luck on July 11th. How did you guys do on your pre-reqs?

I got pretty lucky and got As on the key courses; ill be taking scb204 in the summer. How about you?

I also got all As and one A- in 203. I'm also taking 204 in the summer and just waiting for the results on July 11 í ½í¸Š

You should be getting in with that GPA. They also take into consideration SCB204, ENG102, and SSY240 when determining what point score a student gets, according to the RN student handbook found on the lagcc nursing page. Since this is my first semester in college, I do not know how I will compare to those students that have already taken the other non key required courses but I will see what happens July 11

You don't really need to take all the other courses. In fact, if you receive financial aid they recommend that you take psy 204, microbiology, etc, together with the program. They have a recommended program sequence in the website as well. I haven't taken any other courses besides the key courses, first because I wanted to really foucused on them and get good grades, and second because of financial aid reason, if I don't take enough credits per semester later on in the program I won receive financial aid. Now if you have any other courses completed besides the key courses, at the time of evaluating they will count twice the 4 key courses and only 1 any other course, even if they are part of the program but not key courses.

oh wow thanks for the clear up

Yes so if you have all As in the 4 key courses, and complete AnP 204 by the end of the summer, I would say you're 99.9999% in the program, so congrats! Lol í ½í¸†, ohhh and also the teas, but I guess you did it already right?

yeah i did. That was a hard test; the science part that is. I got like a 61% on science. So many anatomy questions.

I got 2 As, one A- and one C :( The C is in A&P... I am so worried. Worse case scenario if I dont get in I'll just have to retake A&P and reapply next semester. For future references do you guys have any recommendations for a good A&P professor?

I had Mr.Mcphee for lecture. Honestly, I do not think some lecture professors are better than others because in the end you have to do a lot of reading regardless. However, there might be an easy A type professor out there that I have no idea about. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Dr Kendall and Dr Aguirre are the best IMHO. Who was your professor in 203?

Hi Lex,

If you retake it they will average out your first and second anatomy grade so it doesn't mean that your first grade will be cancelled. I think your grade is not bad at all. I've seen worse that got in the program. I also had Mcphee for both scb 203 and 204 and for me he is the best professor I ever had. Most student doesnt like him because his tests are hard but he is very knowlegeable. Because of him I didn't even study for the science part of the TEAS V because I learned alot from him and guess what it was my highest score in TEAS V. I just recently took Microbiology and ask me if I learned anything? Maybe only 1/8 of what I learned from anatomy. Mostly because my professor only reads the slide and never really explains it. Plus when you asked her question she doesnt know the answer. I did get an A though.
