Any Kennesaw State Nursing Students Out There

Published

I am currently taking pre-req at two different schools and I want to transfer to Kennesaw State in the Summer of 09 and finish taking my pre-reqs that I am missing and then apply to there nursing school. Can anyone tell me what there gpa and teas scores usually are when people get excepted as well as do you think I will have a problem transferring in to Kennesaw State with transcripts from two different schools. Thanks:yeah:

I basically just polished up my math and english skills online by doing some practice questions. I didn't buy the ATI prep test booklet. There's no real way to study for reading or science. You just have to know your stuff to get through those. Sorry, I'm probably not the best advice-giver on test-taking. :p

I hope you get in too, ladonnaw!

Did you take your pre reqs at kennesaw state and if you did who do you recommend for the chemistry. Did you get excepted into the program yet?

No I took my pre-reqs at Sacramento City College & at Georgia Highlands College. I have no idea how difficult (or easy) the prereqs at KSU are. :p

I'm applying for Fall semester and like everyone else I'll hear from them around March or April

oh ok good luck with that let me know if you get in :yeah:

I am not sure about the TEAS because it was not required when I started (Spring 2007). I had a previous degree and have been to a total of four different colleges, so that will definitely not be an issue for you. Regarding the GPA, I have heard that you pretty much have to have all A's for their pre-req's. That doesn't mean that your Geology grade will harm you because they take their required courses (A&P, Micro, Chem, etc.) and calculate your GPA based on that. Good luck getting in. I will say that it will seem very unorganized if you get into the program, but I now feel that that better prepared me for nursing :).

I am a second semester accelerated.

I took my prereqs at GSU and then I transferred into the nursing program. My TEAS score was 85.9 and my GPA was 3.79.

I borrowed the book you can get when you sign up for the TEAS and it is well worth it since many of the questions are basically the same as they appear in the TEAS book.

Lots of folks volunteer at Childrens but I don't think they care if you have experience. Keep in mind that you will be selected for an interview where you can highlight the right qualities for nursing.

Do a search around here for a previous thread has similar information on it.

Good luck!
