Any Ironwood or Chuckawalla nurses here?

I was thinking about applying for an RN position at Ironwood and Chuckawalla both California State prisons in Blythe. Just wanted to know if anyone works at either prison and could tell me about them. Pros and Cons. Thanks!

Bump. Is it safe to work at Ironwood or Chuckwalla as an RN? Have there been any nurse hostage or other safety issues for RN's at these two prisons? Are you always accompanied by two "armed" guards (by armed I mean batons). Do you wear a prison issued set of medical scrubs or your own scrubs? Thanks.

No issues. Perfectly safe. There is custody staff with you in the clinic area. You wear your own scrubs with a few restrictions on colors.

Thanks DesertRN! At these two prisons, is there more than one RN on the night shift? Do they provide decent training for a new nurse? Is this night shift best for a new nurse (slower)? :nurse: I appreciate your help. Thanks!
