Hi just curious how many from iowa have completed the lpn to rn program through excelsior online? I want to continue my education and become a rn but I have to work full time and with my family this sounds like it would work for me. I have debated if I want to burn myself out with working and trying to go back to the college where I went to for my lpn. I feel I recieved an excellent education and I have seen the books etc for the online program and feel it's pretty in depth covering alot. I plan to take the 8 week course for expanded iv for the lpn so I have that when I would go to test out of the clinical aspect of the program. Just would like some input on this from iowa nurses. Thanks
If you still look into this site, I am taking the Excelsior Route from the QC area. I would be intersted in located some other students who would be interested in studying with me.
Iowa must accept Excelsior program for jobs then? I just don't know about it. It sounds fishy. How has your experience been? I am currently enrolled in pre-req's at Scott, but I am worried about getting to classes with my son going to daycare. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Iowa accepts grads for licensure if the home state of the program accepts the graduates for licensure, so it's a yes for both EC (out of New York) and ISU (obviously out of Indiana). However, it's always best to ask this directly to the Board of Nursing for your own peace of mind.
Many people who dis Excelsior don't have much of a clue about it. Ask me if you have questions about it or go to the distance learning section of allnurses.com to get some info. There are a lot of us there doing the programs through Excelsior College and Indiana State University.
I am taking my CPNE on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of January. :)
